Toddler Toy Organization

It's been a crazy last couple of months here at my house. First we moved in November, then there was Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and now a baby shower I'm planning.

So it's no wonder that I still don't have my house completely put together yet. I've been working on it little by little but it's been a slow process to say the least.

I knew that I had to get my little guy's play space in the living room organized and functional right away. Most days it looked like a toy bomb was dropped right in the middle of the floor.

To coral the chaos I grabbed a three shelf black bookcase and moved everything to a specific corner.

The Art Space

Here's my art project for the my little guy's work. To display everything, I took an empty frame and added some twine lines and colored clothes pins. For some more color I took four canvases, painted them, and hot glued crayons on.

After the art comes down off the display board it goes into my Toddler To Teenager Art Binder to save for the future. Check out the link above to see how the art binder came together.

To keep my walls white and my carpet Play-Doh free, the art supplies are kept on the top shelf out of reach to the little guy. These things are played with under mommy supervision only.

The Toy Space

All of the other toys are at arms reach and free for playing with. The three shelved bookcase was the perfect piece for this organization project.

I love the Dollar Tree for inexpensive yet durable baskets and bins to keep toys in. This one is for all the cars, tractors, and trucks.

I seriously suggest a puzzle rack if your kids have a lot of puzzles. It's really helped us keep all of the pieces together. This wire one also fits many different kinds of puzzles.

Three blue buckets on the bottom are for wood blocks, Mega Blocks, and play food.

I'm so pleased with the space. Not only does it help me keep things neat and tidy in the front room but it's also helping me teach my little guy about cleaning up. Which is a big plus! Sometimes I think he likes organizing his toys more than playing them. Yay for this mommy right?

Thanks for reading!
