Family Friendly Halloween Movie List

What gets you in the Halloween spirit better than cozying up on the couch with some popcorn and watching a spooky movie? There are more than enough Halloween movies you keep you and the kids busy every night of October!

I've even complied a list of family friendly movies categorized by ratings. All you have to do is go through and pick your movies to watch and then get snuggly.

Crunchy Caramel Apple Clusters

Fall 2012 is officially upon us! It's by far my favorite season of the year because I get to cook all of my favorite Fall time comfort foods like my Cream Cheese Tomato Soup, or these decadent little caramel apple clusters. 

While these are definitely a dessert, they are also semi nutritious as well. The cereal is full of fiber and the little bits of apple are good for you too. I don't feel as bad about eating a couple handfuls of them as I would eating a giant brownie or a bowl of ice cream. 

I hope you'll give them a try. I think you'll be hooked if you do!

Ingredients

• 3 cups Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, divided
• 2 packs Werther's Chewy caramels (about 24)
• 1 tbsp Water
• 1 cup dried and diced apple pieces

* I dried my own apple pieces for this recipe. To oven dry apples, cut into desired shape (bits, slices..) and put them in ice water with 2 lemons cut into slices to prevent browning. Set your oven to the lowest temperature possible. Remove apples from water and dry with paper towel. Set them out on a backing sheet, making sure they are not touching each other at all. Place apples in the oven and leave the door open slightly. Place a fan by the oven to help the air flow. The apples with take 2 - 3 hours to dehydrate depending on their size. 

Directions

1. Crush 1 cup of the cereal in a food processor or in a bag using a rolling pin. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl combine the remaining cereal and apple pieces.
3. In a separate bowl, melt caramels with water in the microwave. Stirring every 30 seconds until completely smooth.
4. Pour melted caramel over the cereal and apples and toss together to evenly coat.
5. Form cereal into clusters of whatever size you like. 
6. Roll each cluster in the cereal crumbs to coat and set aside to harden.

The clusters can be stored in the refrigerator to keep fresh. The recipe yields about 50 clusters.

A Crafter's Dream Christmas Giveaway

Cream Cheese Tomato Soup

There's just something about tomato soup for me. It's one of my favorite comfort foods for the Fall and Winter months. 

This recipe is THE BEST! It's simple, cheap, and fast to throw together and it tastes oh so good. My toddler even loved it with his grilled cheese for dunking.   

Ingredients

1 Large Onion

1/2 Stick Butter

32 oz. Condensed Tomato Soup

28 oz. Can Crushed Tomatoes 

2 Cups Half & Half

8 oz. Cream Cheese

Directions

1. Dice onions and cook them in the half stick of butter until soft.
2. Meanwhile, in a mixed, food processor, or blender mix cream cheese and condensed tomato soup.
3. Whip together until completely mixed into a creamy consistency.
4. Add crushed tomatoes, cream cheese and soup mixture, and half & half in the pot. Let simmer until ready to serve. Garnish as desired.

I like a grilled cheese with my soup too!

This recipe can also be frozen for storage. To freeze, place the soup in a zip locked freezer bag and push out as much of the air as you can possibly get out. It will stay fresh for about 3 months.

I'm loving this pretty Fall Wreath from Five In Five! The colors are so beautiful..Doesn't it make you feel like Fall decorating? 

Danni from Silo Hill Farm shows us How To Make Faux Fall Corn Ears! I can't wait to give this festive craft a try!

And how about this Chocolate Chip Cookie Cheesecake from Destination: Craft!? Yum! I'm thinking this would steal the show if you brought it to a party.

Coffee Mug Swap

A while back I joined up with a coffee mug swap hosted by Dalayna from Pointing Up and Britt from Yellow Umbrella. I had such a great time blog stalking my chosen partner and making a mug for her.

Today is the day for the link up where we all show off our new mugs from our new friends! My mug came from the fabulous Kelly at The NO Drama Mama!

Isn't it great?!?! It's my blog header! Kelly drew out the designs on my mug especially for me. I am in love! The poka dots and the beautiful font... THANK YOU Kelly, I truly love it! You did such a fantastic job!

Also, as if getting the super cute mug wasn't enough, Kelly also sent this really nice card and some packages of hot chocolate!

Yum.. My little guy and I enjoyed the cocoa together on a cool morning last week. It made the morning a very special one as it was my son's very first experience with hot chocolate. It was a big hit!

Thanks again to Kelly my mug sender and the hosts of the swap Dalayna and Britt. I can't wait to see all of the other fun mugs that everyone got from the swap.

Vectoria Designs Halloween Printable Giveaway

Are you guys ready for an awesome Halloween giveaway? I've been lucky enough to team up with Vectoria Designs to bring you two fun printables for your Halloween projects.

If you don't know about Vectoria Designs on Etsy, you really should go check out all of the fabulous vintage inspired printables they have for sale. Every time I look at them all, my mind goes wild with the possible projects I could make!

Item number one that's up for grabs is a sheet of 15 printable vintage inspired Halloween apothecary labels.

I am completely in love with these labels! I gathered as many jars, old candle holders, and bottles as I could find to create a potion bottle collection.

I'm doing a witchy themed Halloween mantle this year, so I thought the apothecary labels would work great for it! 

The next items included in the giveaway are 6 creepy vintage images to make iron on transfers for fabric with. 

The download comes with each individual image as well as it's mirrored image for transferring.
